System Administrator

We are looking to add a System Administrator on our growing team who is willing to work with us on our headquarters. We are in the Upper Kirby area just a few minutes from I-69. The digital certificate products in our suite of services include SSL/TLS, smime/email, code and document/object signing, client authentication, and IoT. SSL.com is a voting member of the CA/Browser Forum and the Cloud Signature Consortium and as a result every team member at SSL.com is valued and provides a positive impact on Internet security in general. We regularly interact with companies such as Google, Amazon, Mozilla, Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, etc.
Job Description
You are familiar or interested in one or more of the following technologies / tools:- VMware vSphere, AWS
- Linux administration, server hardening and troubleshooting
- Scripting (Bash, Python…)
- Automation, e.g. ansible
- Docker
- GitLab, GitHub repositories and workflows
- CI/CD (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
- Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Confluence / Jira, documentation / workflows
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, oversee, and manage general-purpose server hardware in Datacenters and infrastructure resources across virtual infrastructure
on both on-premises and cloud platforms. - Administer resources, performance, updates, configuration adjustments, access controls, backups, and archival procedures for essential PKI servers, databases, storage, and virtual infrastructure.
- Deploy and supervise services including DNS, VPN, Radius, Email, Logging, Monitoring
- Collaborate in Source Code and Project Management Platforms
- Improve and automate infrastructure and application deployment procedures.
- Devise and maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies for critical resources.
- Develop and implement solutions to scale out critical services, ensuring robust and scalable support for organizational needs.
- Record operations and document system changes for servers and services, that are integral to PKI operations.
- Respond to problems and incidents and perform root cause analysis
