eSigner Cloud Key Adapter (CKA)

eSigner CKA (Cloud Key Adapter) is a Windows based application that uses the CNG interface (KSP Key Service Provider) to allow tools such as certutil.exe and signtool.exe to use the eSigner Cloud Signature Consortium compliant API for signing operations. It acts like a virtual USB token and loads the code signing certs to the certificate store. This feature helps make your eSigner cert more flexible with options to automate signings in CI/CD processes that do not exist with a physical USB token.

Check out our guide on how to automate EV Code Signing With Signtool.exe or Certutil.exe Using eSigner CKA.

eSigner CodeSignTool

CodeSignTool is a secure, privacy-oriented multi-platform Java command line utility for remotely signing Microsoft Authenticode and Java code objects with eSigner EV code signing certificates. Hashes of the files are sent to SSL.com for signing so that the code itself is not sent. This is ideal where sensitive files need to be signed, but should not be sent over the wire for signing. CodeSignTool is also ideal for automated batch processes for high volume signings or integration into existing CI/CD pipeline workflows.

Check out our guide on how to use CodeSignTool.

eSigner DocSignTool

DocSignTool is a secure, privacy-oriented multi-platform Java command line utility for remotely signing PDF files using eSigner document signing certificates. Hashes of the documents are sent to SSL.com for signing so that the document itself is not sent. This is ideal where sensitive documents need to be signed, but should not be sent over the wire for signing. DocSignTool is also ideal for automated batch processes for high volume signings or integration into existing document workflows.

Check out our guide on how to use DocSignTool.

If a company wants to have thousands of documents digitally signed in an automated way, they can write a script that can call our DocSignTool. This service is called eSealing and requires only the hash of the document to be sent over the wire ensuring that the full document does not leave the company network (users who want their organization doc signing certificates to be converted to eSealing should contact support@ssl.com).  eSigner document signatures are legal and enforceable under the United States Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce (ESIGN) act as well as the laws of many other nations worldwide.

SSL Manager Version 3.2 Release Notes

With SSL Manager being upgraded to version 3.2, it can now work together with Yubikey to get clients their certificates faster to a token.  Before, clients used to have to do the attestation on a Yubikey directly on Yubikey Manager, submit it to SSL.com website manually, inform the support team, and wait for the new issuance.
